McCarthy got a bullet to the abdomen in an attempt to protect President Ronald Reagan from a killing endeavor in the year 1981.

Another U.S. organization which is the Bureau of Diplomatic Security is a specific set of bodyguards that look after government personnel abroad, and the U.S. Ambassador, as well as the Secretary of State.

Hollywood celebrities like Britney Spears employed a bodyguard/nanny to assist her in taking her and her two children in the town. Public figures would make use of bodyguards to protect them and their families from the interfering eyes of the gawkers and media.
